Le bar gastronomique Commerce vient tout juste d’ouvrir ses portes dans l’ancien restaurant Bar & Boeuf, à l’angle des rues McGill et Notre-Dame Ouest, tout près du Square Victoria, dans le Vieux-Montréal.
Nous étions invités, mercredi dernier, pour leur party d’ouverture officielle, où la fête (et toute la population montréalaise!) était au rendez-vous. J’y retourne pour l’heure du lunch quelques jours plus tard, question de m’imprégner des lieux et prendre le temps d’apprécier la cuisine du chef Adam Zaitouni (Grinder, Les Enfants Terribles) sous la direction de Martin Juneau (Pastaga).
L’espace est vaste et chaleureux, avec le bois qui domine et le vert émeraude. C’est ADR Design qui signe le décor, cette firme qui est également derrière le look de plusieurs autres adresses du groupe MTL Cuisine (Helena, Les 400 Coups, Venti, Tapas24, etc.).
En table d’hôte, le menu midi propose cette semaine le borscht à la betterave avec yogourt fumé et aneth, à savoir une soupe russe où l’on sent bien les morceaux râpés de la bette, de même qu’une salade de légumes racines & vieux cheddar avec une vinaigrette à la moutarde à l’ancienne en entrée. J’apprécie particulièrement les goûts et les découpes des légumes de la salade, vraiment un plat réussi.
Pour les plats principaux, j’opte pour les raviolis farcis à la ricotta maison, avec une purée de courge musquée, des dés de pomme verte fraîche et des châtaignes avec huile de truffe, le highlight de notre lunch! Le risotto d’orge est également très bon, avec citron confit, pistache, pomme et légumes d’hiver.
En dessert, un profiterole au caramel au rhum, arachides et mousse à la noix de coco, de même qu’une panna cotta de yogourt au citron, crumble et pistache. De belles textures et de belles saveurs. :)
Le gastrobar Commerce est définitivement un bel ajout dans le quartier, à la fois pour les lunchs d’affaires, les 5@7 entres collègues, le souper ou les late-snacks!
BOUFFE: 8.5/10 – Frais, simple, bien travaillé. Les portions pourraient être plus généreuses.
AMBIANCE: 7.5/10 – Atmosphère agréable malgré le fait que c’était relativement vide (mais il faut dire que ça vient tout juste d’ouvrir).
SERVICE: 8.5/10 – Courtois, rapide.
PRIX: $$ – Un peu moins de 20$ pour la table d’hôte incluant une entrée et un plat. Ajoutez 3 ou 4$ pour le dessert du jour.
