CHAPEAU PÔPA !

Hélène Bougeois Leclerc, Claude Meunier, Patrick drolet, Marc Messier et Denise Robert lors du film Le Grand Départ.

Serge Thériault, Yvon Deschamps, André-Philippe Gagnon et Diane Dufresne ont pris part au Gala Juste pour rire Hommage à Claude Meunier, qui se déroulait lundi soir.

Étant donné l'immense succès qu'avait connu le Gala Juste pour rire Hommage à RBO l'an dernier, le concepteur et animateur Stéphan Bureau avait beaucoup de pression sur les épaules pour ce Gala Hommage à Claude Meunier, tenu au Théâtre Saint-Denis. C'est après avoir foulé non pas un tapis rouge, mais plutôt un tapis en peau de vache, que Claude Meunier a fait son apparition dans la salle, sous un tonnerre d'applaudissements.

PÔPA PARÉ

L'humoriste était pour l'occasion entouré d'une cinquantaine de figurants affichant les traits de son célèbre personnage de Pôpa Paré. D'entrée de jeu, Meunier, connu comme étant un grand timide, semblait déjà dépassé par les événements. C'est ainsi qu'il est allé prendre place aux côtés de son complice de toujours, Serge Thériault. Sur scène, le ténor Marc Hervieux, accompagné d'une chorale, s'est empressé de souhaiter en chanson la bienvenue à Meunier, avant de laisser la place au grand manitou de la soirée, Stéphan Bureau. À travers ses nombreuses présentations, ce dernier s'est permis plusieurs allusions aux multiples projets sur lesquels Claude Meunier a travaillé. « Bonsoir, mon nom est Stéphan Bureau, mais étant donné les circonstances, appelez-moi... Stéphan! », a-t-il lancé d'emblée, en référence à une pièce du répertoire de la vedette de la soirée.

DES LUNES

Cela faisait un bail que Juste pour rire tentait de rendre hommage à ce grand homme de l'humour : « Claude avait peur d'être momifié de son vivant, a dit l'animateur. Nous l'avions approché, il y a trois ans, au moment où il venait de sortir de l'aventure Détect inc. Honnêtement, je peux comprendre qu'il ait préféré rester dans l'ombre ».

RETOUR À L'ORDRE

Claude Meunier s'est fait connaître avec Paul et Paul, puis avec Ding et Dong et La petite vie. Il est également l'auteur d'un lot de pièces à succès telles que Les Voisins et Appelez-moi Stéphane. Stéphan Bureau et ses invités disposaient donc d'un vaste terrain de jeu pour réussir un hommage des plus divertissants. Toujours aussi humble, le premier invité de la soirée, le grand Yvon Deschamps, est venu rappeler à son bon ami et associé que c'est grâce à lui qu'il a pu jouir d'une aussi belle carrière : « Il n'était rien et moi, j'étais tout. Je l'ai laissé s'introduire dans mon intimité. Pas par la porte d'en arrière, mais par la porte de côté ».

Lui ont succédé les Chick'n Swell, qui ont offert un compte-rendu du livre Comment rendre hommage à un grand pour les nuls, selon lequel il faut d'abord s'assurer que le récipiendaire d'un hommage soit décédé. Toujours aussi absurde, le trio de Victoriaville aura réussi à nous décrocher quelques sourires, mais sans plus. André Ducharme, quant à lui, a offert une version bien personnelle du numéro du maître nageur, pigé dans le vaste répertoire de Paul et Paul. Juste son accoutrement valait le numéro : « Oui oui, profitez-en, ça fait partie du prix du billet ».
