Un certain nombre des milliers de spectateurs qui ont assisté au spectacle du groupe Loco Locass ont décidé de marcher dans les rues du centre-ville de Montréal pour protester une nouvelle fois contre la hausse des droits de scolarité, vendredi soir.

Il était par ailleurs difficile à évaluer la foule participant à ces manifestations. Le trio québécois des Loco Locass, qui amorçait son retour sur scène aux Francofolies, a invité les leaders des mouvements québécois à venir chanter avec lui son grand succès "Libérez-nous des libéraux", interprété à la toute fin du spectacle.
Les spectateurs ont pu voir les Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois, Jeanne Reynolds, de la CLASSE, Martine Desjardins, de la FEUQ, et même l'ancien président de la FEUC, Léo-Bureau-Blouin, s'époumonner avec enthousiasme sur la scène. Peu avant, le groupe, vêtu de combinaisons rouges, avait fait asseoir les spectateurs en leur demandant d'observer une minute de silence pour marquer "la fin du régime" libéral. Il a encouragé les gens à se rendre voter en grand nombre aux prochaines élections.
La formation musicale bien connue pour son engagement politique avait aussi invité les gens à venir assister au spectacle avec leurs casseroles sur la place des Festivals, au centre-ville. Tout au long de la soirée, le groupe a scandé de nombreux slogans qu'on a pu entendre au cours des manifestations nocturnes des dernières semaines dont "la loi spéciale, on s'en câlisse!" D'entrée de jeu, les Loco Locass ont lancé: "On est plus que 50... On est plus que 50" pour se moquer de la Loi 78 qui interdit les rassemblements de plus de 50 personnes. à il y a huit ans. Le groupe a lancé à la foule qu'on "est nés pour vivre ces moments-là", laissant percevoir une grande fierté. "Ce qui me frappe avec le printemps québécois, a ajouté un membre du groupe, c'est qu'on n'abandonne pas. A tous les jours, on est dans la rue." Les chanteurs ont invité les gens présents à se joindre aux marcheurs de la 53e manifestation qui avait débuté au parc Émilie-Gamelin vers 20 h 30. Ce rassemblement a démarré à l'angle des rues Maisonneuve et Saint-Urbain vers 23 h.

Pham started St. Louis' first rally with a double in the seventh, and finished with four hits, just one day after suffering a bizarre head injury in the batting cage. There were 37,762 fans at Busch Stadium expecting to see a high-octane duel, and that's what they got, though both starters were long gone by the end. Syndergaard's defense spoiled what was a dominant start through six; he finished with two runs (one earned) allowed over 7 1/3 innings.
